The Antioch IL real estate market remains active in 2026. Recent data shows homes are still moving relatively quickly, while price trends vary depending on the measurement and time period. Zillow reported 100 homes in for-sale inventory at the end of July and a median 12 days to pending, while Redfin reported a $376,811 median sale price for the three months ending July.
What Is Happening in the Antioch IL Housing Market?
If you are buying or selling a home in Antioch, Illinois, national housing headlines only tell part of the story.
Antioch has its own combination of inventory, home prices, buyer demand and property types. Conditions can also vary substantially between price ranges and between single-family homes, townhomes, newer construction, acreage properties and lake-area homes.
That is why we look at multiple current market indicators instead of relying on one statistic.
As of the latest available 2026 data:
• Zillow reported a typical Antioch home value of $361,678 as of July 31, up 6.5% from one year earlier.
• Zillow reported 100 homes in for-sale inventory and 47 new listings during July.
• Zillow's median time to pending was 12 days in July.
• Redfin reported a $376,811 median sale price for the three months ending July, down 3.4% from the comparable period one year earlier.
• Redfin reported 63 July home sales and a median 44 days on market.
• Realtor.com reported a $379,000 median sold price and 170 active listings using its June 2026 market data.
The numbers vary because these sources use different methodologies, time periods and property data. Rather than selecting whichever number looks most dramatic, we think buyers and sellers should understand what each measure tells us.
Are Antioch IL Home Prices Going Up or Down?
There is not one simple answer.
Zillow's Home Value Index reported that the typical Antioch home value reached $361,678 as of July 31, 2026, representing a 6.5% increase over the previous year.
Redfin, however, reported that the median sale price for the three months ending July was $376,811, down 3.4% compared with the same period a year earlier.
Those statistics measure different things.
A home-value index estimates changes in the value of the housing stock over time. A median sale price measures the midpoint of homes that actually sold during a particular period. The mix of properties sold can move the median higher or lower even when underlying home values are behaving differently.
For an individual Antioch homeowner, neither statistic should be used by itself to estimate what a particular property is worth.
Recent comparable sales, location, condition, updates, lot characteristics, property type and current competition all matter.
How Much Inventory Is Available in Antioch?
Inventory remains an important part of the Antioch market.
Zillow reported 100 homes in for-sale inventory as of July 31, along with 47 new listings during July.
Realtor.com reported 170 active listings in June. Again, the difference reflects the sources' respective data sets and methodologies rather than providing two directly comparable inventory counts.
What matters to an individual buyer or seller is the competition within the relevant segment of the market.
A buyer searching for a specific property type, price range or location may have considerably fewer choices than the overall inventory figure suggests.
Buyers can see current homes for sale in Antioch to get a better sense of what is currently available.
How Quickly Are Antioch Homes Selling?
Recent data indicates that buyers are still acting quickly on some Antioch properties.
Zillow reported a median of 12 days to pending as of July 31.
Redfin reported a median 44 days on market for the three months ending July.
These numbers are not measuring exactly the same part of the transaction timeline, but both help illustrate an important point: a desirable home that enters the market at a price buyers perceive as reasonable may not remain available indefinitely.
At the same time, sellers should not assume every property will sell immediately.
Condition, presentation, price, property type and competition can make a significant difference.
Are Antioch Buyers Still Competing for Homes?
There are signs of meaningful buyer activity.
Zillow's most recently available sale-to-list data showed a median sale-to-list ratio of 1.000 as of June 30, meaning the median sale price was equal to the final list price. Zillow also reported that 51.7% of sales during that period closed above list price, while 39.4% closed below list price.
Realtor.com's June data similarly reported an average sale-to-list ratio of approximately 100%.
That does not mean every Antioch listing will receive multiple offers or sell above asking price.
It does indicate that correctly positioned homes can attract serious buyer attention.
For buyers, this makes preparation important. Knowing your budget and understanding the complete monthly cost of ownership before finding a property can make the decision process easier. Our guide to how much house you can comfortably afford explains some of the expenses buyers should consider beyond purchase price.
What Should Antioch Home Buyers Take From These Numbers?
The current data suggests buyers should be prepared without feeling pressured to make a decision that is not right for them.
Before beginning an Antioch home search, consider:
• Establishing a comfortable housing budget
• Discussing financing and qualification with a lender
• Reviewing current inventory within your actual price range
• Comparing recent sales instead of relying solely on asking prices
• Understanding property taxes and other property-specific costs
• Evaluating inspections, condition and anticipated maintenance
• Being prepared to act when a strong property matches your needs
Antioch housing includes a variety of locations and property types, so citywide averages are only a starting point.
What Should Antioch Home Sellers Know?
For sellers, the market data provides encouraging signs of buyer activity, but it also reinforces the importance of accurate pricing.
When buyers have instant access to competing listings and recent sales, an unrealistic asking price can become apparent quickly.
A strong listing strategy should consider:
• Recent comparable sales
• Current competing homes
• Property condition and updates
• Location and lot characteristics
• Current buyer activity in the property's price range
• Professional presentation and marketing
• Changes in inventory since the most recent comparable homes sold

Why Local Antioch Context Matters
Antioch is located in northern Lake County near the Wisconsin state line and the Chain O'Lakes region.
Housing decisions here are not based on sale price alone.
Property taxes, utilities, insurance, financing, maintenance and property-specific characteristics can all affect the actual cost of owning a particular home.
For additional local information, our Antioch IL cost of living guide examines housing costs, property taxes, utilities and other expenses using Census, state, county and Village information.
That local context is particularly useful when comparing two properties with similar asking prices but very different ongoing costs.
What Does the Antioch Market Mean for Your Particular Home?
Citywide statistics cannot tell you exactly what one Antioch property is worth or how quickly it will sell.
Real estate markets operate at a much more detailed level.
A single-family home at one price point can face different competition from a townhome, waterfront property, acreage property or higher-priced home.
For sellers, the most useful analysis starts with the property itself and its closest recent comparable sales.
For buyers, the most useful analysis starts with the homes that actually meet their needs and budget.
The Star Home Team's Perspective
Our biggest takeaway from the current Antioch numbers is that this is a market where preparation and property-specific information matter.
There is still buyer activity. Some homes are moving quickly. At the same time, buyers have to evaluate price, financing and the complete cost of ownership carefully, while sellers need to pay attention to current competition rather than assuming that past market conditions still apply.
The Star Home Team works throughout Antioch, Lake County and surrounding Northern Illinois communities. Our experience includes more than 4,000 closed real estate sales.
We believe market statistics are most useful when they help someone make a better decision, not when they are used to create urgency.
Frequently Asked Questions About the Antioch IL Real Estate Market
What is the median home price in Antioch IL?
Redfin reported a median Antioch sale price of $376,811 for the three months ending July 2026. Realtor.com reported a $379,000 median sold price using June data, while Zillow reported a June median sale price of $362,500. The figures differ because the sources use different data sets, methodologies and reporting periods.
Are Antioch IL home prices rising?
It depends on the measure. Zillow's Home Value Index estimated a typical Antioch home value of $361,678 as of July 31, 2026, up 6.5% year over year. Redfin's median sale price for the three months ending July was down 3.4% year over year. These statistics measure different aspects of the housing market.
How fast are homes selling in Antioch IL?
Zillow reported that Antioch homes went pending in a median 12 days as of July 31, 2026. Redfin reported a median 44 days on market for the three months ending July. Individual homes may sell considerably faster or slower depending on price, condition, location and buyer demand.
How many homes are for sale in Antioch IL?
Zillow reported 100 homes in for-sale inventory at the end of July 2026 and 47 new listings during July. Inventory changes continuously, so buyers should review current listings when evaluating their actual choices.
Are Antioch homes selling over asking price?
Some are. Zillow reported that 51.7% of Antioch sales closed above list price using its June 2026 data, while 39.4% sold below list. Its median sale-to-list ratio was 1.000. This does not mean an individual home should automatically be expected to sell above asking price.
Is Antioch IL a good market for home sellers?
Current data shows active buyer demand, including relatively quick movement for some homes. However, seller results depend heavily on the property, price, condition, competition and marketing. A local comparative market analysis is more useful for an individual homeowner than a citywide statistic.
Is now a good time to buy a home in Antioch?
That depends on your finances, housing needs, timeline and the properties available within your budget. Buyers should consider purchase price, mortgage terms, taxes, insurance, maintenance and other costs rather than trying to time the market based on one statistic.
Why do Antioch housing statistics differ between Zillow, Redfin and Realtor.com?
Real estate websites can use different geographic definitions, data sources, reporting periods and calculation methods. A median sale price is also different from an estimated home-value index. Looking at several indicators can provide a more complete picture than relying on a single number.
What Comes Next for the Antioch Housing Market?
The Antioch real estate market will continue to change as new homes enter the market, properties sell, mortgage rates change and buyer demand shifts.
For now, the latest data shows an active market where homes can move quickly, but where pricing and property-specific conditions matter.
If you are considering buying or selling in Antioch, the next useful step is not trying to predict the entire housing market. It is understanding the portion of the market that applies to your particular goals.
